When Will the Bear Market End?

As the BEAR grinds ever-lower, periodic counter-trend (i.e., sucker's) rallies to the contrary notwithstanding, the question is asked with increasing frequency, intensity, and desperation: when, oh when, will it END?

Of course, we have no definitive answers. If we did, we would have to say: MOVE OVER CROESUS! However, we do think that there are certain clues which provide more usable information in working toward a conclusion than a simple coin toss.

What, precisely, are these clues?
