Proceeding along the path suggested by the time-tested hypothesis that the contrary approach offers a better than coin toss prospect of investment success, compared to the less than even prospects afforded by the follow-the-herd method -- we think it might be useful to consider the current state of the buzz on Wall Street. (The buzz, we think, reflects the generality of thinking and hence, more often than not, points in the wrong direction).
